Making Factory Shipping More Reliable

In the past, Goldlion's factory relied on manual barcode scanning item by item, handwritten detail logs, and rough weight-based estimates of carton contents during packing. This approach was not only slow but prone to missed and erroneous scans — shortages or wrong styles often weren't discovered until goods arrived at the warehouse, driving up traceability costs.

Century Lead deployed RFID tablets at the factory end. When workers pack, they place items above the tablet for rapid sensing; the device automatically reads the RFID tag on each garment and generates a packing detail sheet. The system immediately reconciles the expected quantity against the actual scanned count — and alerts on the spot if they don't match. This way, data is accurately locked in before goods even leave the factory, and the warehouse can verify by carton upon receipt without opening boxes for piece-by-piece counting.

Making Warehouse Flow Smoother

The warehouse is the transfer hub connecting factory and store. Century Lead designed differentiated setups for different scenarios. For receiving and shipping, RFID tunnel machines are used — full cartons automatically pass through, completing a whole-carton read in seconds, with the system auto-reconciling against documents so discrepancies are immediately visible.

For split-case shipping, split-case receiving, or e-commerce orders, RFID tablets handle the job — far faster than barcode scanning. Operators place items on the tablet, the device reads tags automatically, and the system verifies orders in real time, flagging errors or omissions on the spot. For e-commerce returns, the system automatically identifies the associated order and product information, completing put-away or write-off decisions.

Goldlion stores handle three daily tasks: receiving, stocktaking, and product finding. In the past, receiving meant checking and signing off item by item against documents; stocktaking meant all hands on deck after closing, cross-checking style by style with paper lists and scanners; and finding products meant running back and forth between shelves and the stockroom, relying on memory and experience.

Century Lead equipped stores with RFID handheld devices. During receiving, staff use the handheld to read an entire carton, and the system automatically reconciles against the warehouse shipment — completing acceptance in just over ten seconds. For stocktaking, walking the store once with the handheld batch-reads every tag on the shelves, with data auto-uploaded and updated — compressing hours of work into 1–2 hours. Product finding is even more direct: enter the style number or SKU on the handheld, approach the shelf area, and the device guides you to the exact location with sound and visual cues.
